Kinga – Volcano II 65G; Sex On The Beach

Kinga » Volcano Soft Bra (SC-586)

Summer means cocktails, heat, vacation photos and a tan which complements neon colours. It’s no surprise that brands release models adhering to the classic cocktail or candy aesthetic precisely during the summer. As part of the summer must-have lineup, Kinga presents its Volcano; a brightly coloured matching set straight out of a technicolour dream.

Volcano is an ombre bra in two variants – push up and soft balconette. The push up is not really my thing, but I took a liking to the balconette. I have to admit that I’m glad that the soft version lacks straps, as they would have been too much.

Black trim nicely contours the whole thing, making it look like it belongs in a comic book, but for some reason they remind me of the military – such pseudoutilitary straps, as if we were wearing a knife and a multitool at our hips. Wearing it makes me feel like Ursula Andress from Dr. No.

The band is lined with rather stiff tulle, which made me doubt if it would fit properly. It feels weird at first, especially if you’re not used to the British, soft-elastic bandss, but I’m slowly getting used to the feeling. I have to admit that I do feel the stitching when taking deeper breaths. I think this effect could have been diminished by widening the elastics and hiding the stitches under a second layer of elastic or other material.

I’m getting the feeling that Volcano is a model that runs small in the band – normally, Kinga’s 65 fits me very well, but here, I had to stretch the soft version for several days before it began feeling comfortable; I wasn’t even able to fasten the push-up version. At all. I think that women needing a British 28 band can easily wear this model, because I never saw such a tight band. When stretched the push up model only reaches 71 cm, while the soft version manages 73.5 cm.

The shaping is more than okay – the bust has a round shape, slightly pushed forward. I like it very much, I’m looking for exactly this shape, this is what I’m talking about. I have a feeling like these are My Breasts 2.0, a new and improved version. The effect is similar to what I get in padded balconettes with two or more vertical stitches. I think this might be the first bra that fits me better than the model 😉

I need to adress the panties issue. The lower layer of tulle is laced with black, which breaks the illusion; when I put them on, they don’t feel perfectly matched to the bra, because the bottom loses much of its colour. Both variants are also very delicate, almost paper-like to the touch, but if someone so clumsy like me doesn’t pull or damage them, then it seems that first impressions can be wrong. The whole set has a very surreal, fairy tale-like character, as if it was made out of smoke, poof – and it’s gone. These dry in fifteen minutes, though 😉

Volcano has a very adequate price for the must-have of the collection, although I’m slightly miffed at its comfort value. You can get the panties for half of that price, I definitely recommend the g-strings.

I sincerely hope that Volcano will see a re-release next spring in new colour variants and that the size table will be expanded. Currently, the soft version can be purchased up to J cup, while the push-ups are made with cups up to H; I I don’t see a reason not to add five or six more sizes as well. This neon darling can fill the hole left by Tequila and Curacao by Gorsenia (they only reached EU F cup). I would also love to see a Mojito variant (white/green), as well as Bloody Mary (red/green) and Manhattan (bright and dark pink), since we already have Sex on the Beach… Oh, did I just invent a line of bestsellers? Don’t copy, do not copy, copyright across the entire universe!
