Anita Active – Air Control DeltaPad 70F; Strappy Air Condition

During one of the Salon Bielizny events I tried this model in pink and it didn’t pique my interest then; not my colour. However, I need to admit that like in all relationships, a bit of time is needed before the bra reveals all of its strong sides. DeltaPad is now a mainstay in my rotation in a helper role, as a companion for those days when I want to feel stylish despite melting in the heat.

Anita took a risk and it paid off – DeltaPad is definitely the biggest design success the company had in recent years. It deviates in character from other products in the Active line, as well as from those in Anita’s main line. By now you know I’m not the biggest fan of yellow, but in this setup it looks interesting and stylish, a little bit like a superhero costume. It definitely fits in the mold demonstrated a couple of years ago by Alexander Wang in his H&M collection (although he obviously didn’t think about women over the size of 70-80 A-C) and which subsequently started appearing in store chains as daily casual wear or tracksuit tops. Style points, Anita! This is a very fashionable offering which isn’t a dull breast holster.

I picked size 70F. Normally, I would go with 65G, but I was warned that that particular model is a bit tight, which is definitely true – I can only fasten the 70 at the first row of hooks, and only with some difficulty. This is my sister size, though, so no surprises here.

The DeltaPad packaging states that the bra will be almost an AC unit, as it features a lot of modern textile technologies; usually such praising paragraphs are boring and irritating fantasies rather than true statements about the product. However, surprisingly, most of the claims made by the manufacturers are true. I sweat normally, like I would during any normal exercise, but the sweat is effectively wicked. The slightly padded inserts separate my breasts to prevent them forming a monolith, which helps avoid the infamous Niagara effect. The bust is protected from chafing and looks… rather attractive!

As for the shape – this is the main attraction. This neon darling shapes the bust into almost perfect apples, almost like a good balconette, or even better; I’m very satisfied. This is the best shaping I’ve ever experienced in a sports bra. Actually, it’s some of the best shaping in bras overall, not just in sports ones, which makes it well suited as a daily bra. It looks very good under a sheer top 😉

I’m stunned by DeltaPad – I mean, I knew that sports bras didn’t need to look like garishly-coloured elastic bands, but this model definitely takes the cake for exceeding my expectations.

The support is absolutely top notch: I feel safe and confident I won’t knock my teeth out with my bust. This model definitely fits my taste much better than the Momentum, for example. No bounce, no unnecessary movement, DeltaPad keeps my breasts tight like a vice, only comfortable. Running, riding a bicycle or gardening – none of these activities can threaten this beast.

It can be yours for around 280 PLN (~$70) – it is no small amount of money for a bra, but I would personally vouch that it’s worth the price of admission; I mentioned previously and I will continue mentioning that the DeltaPad is definitely the prettiest and the most comfortable sports bra I’ve ever tried. The fact that it can be worn as a (stylish!) daily bra means that suddenly our closet is enriched by a two-in-one deal – and 140 PLN (~$35)  for a bra is a much more reasonable proposition.
