Gorteks – Shirley 65G; Legolas Lost His Bra

gorteks dita b4

Shirley is my absolute musthave for the winter of 2017/2018 – green embroidery on on classic black and corset-laced panties is what made my inner Dita von Teese rip out of my body like and Alien and demand some new lingerie. We had to wait for Shirley for a bit due to manfucaturing glitches, but the final effect was worth the wait. Are any elven princesses present? Gorteks’s design department stole your favorite bra to copy it.

I love the colour green with dedication fit for a greater cause, so I guess nobody is surprised by my admiration of the shades of the set: the leaf embroidery has been made in color that falls somewhere between fresh box leaves and dark lime. It is a bit iridescent, so if you have seen online pictures in which Shirley almost shines in the dark, this is a combination of artificial lighting and iridescent thread becoming a neon green 🙂

The construction is a fake semisoft – a balcony bra with the upper, netted part of the cup meeting the strap halfway it’s length. My boobs don’t like the semisoft type of bra, but this one fits pretty well, so there go five hearts for the shaping; the bra doesn’t smoosh or deform my breasts, and the net does not wrinkle. I chose 65G, which is my regular size; I had trouble with choosing a Gorteks cut that would suit my boobs before (neither Pamela nor Camilla nor Scarlet nor Bonnie nor Cleo did fit me completely and to my satisfaction), but this time I don’t have to choose between a cup too deep or too wiide . I think that is in part thanks to me gaining a few pounds (sitting all day in front of endless list of tasks in my job, meh) but I won’t complain; at least now I can enjoy my Gorteks bras with no fit issues 😉

The bra does not fit true to size – if you normally wear 65G I would say it may fit, but it might be a good idea to order one sister size up, that is a bra with a bigger band; 65 fits me, but is on the verge of being too tight, altough 70 band would be too big. Shirley is smaller in the band than her sisters that I managed to try on. After a few days of wearing the bra problem has been solved though.
Straps are quite wide and have a criss cross design on them – pretty enough not to hide them.

Band is made from elastic and netting, but it is not the pantyhose-like dreadful thing you can see in cheaper bras. We can wave the ‘ham in a string net’ effect bye bye, because the materials are stiff and quite durable.

There is a bow on the gore with a golden filigree with ‘S’ for Shirley – or maybe for ‘sexy’? Both make sense 😉

Panties I chose are briefs with corset-laced back – and this might be the only downside of the entire set; after laundry the lacing pulls on one side and you have to work a bit to make it look less wonky, for which I deduct one heart. I am in love though with the mentioned before on the blog wedding band effect; once upon a time the quality of the stocking was measured by pulling them through a wedding ring to see if they are thin enough. This panties definitely can do that, they are delicate and ethereal, but still durable.
They have a little filigree too – plus one point for Shirley!

I just had to show off my butt in those, hadn’t I?

Shirley is not a lounge bra, but it doesn’t hurt me either – she is just fine for all-day wear, but I wouldn’t sleep in her (sorry for using the word ‘her’, but Shirley is a girl after all, it is just stronger than me). It bothers me a bit with the lower part of the band cutting in a bit, but after a slight readjustment all is fine again.

To sum things up – Shirley is a definite must for all lingerie fashionistas out there, and I would suggest to hurry up, since some stores have run our already. I am so happy that Gorteks ventures further and further with their designs (those crane-patterned balconettes that will show up in spring! Yay!), and I can only ask them to expand their sizing so that more girls can enjoy bras from Bialystok city. The price is very budget-friendly too – it is around 90 PLN depending of the retailer, so not that much for getting an item that will surely become one of the iconic products of the brand. I really hope that Shirley will be seen again in new color combos, that including base colors. I wholeheartedly recommend the girl!
