Oceane is a push up bra with removable cookies – they are rather large and definitely not s lingerie standard, if you remove them you can fit in boobs one cup larger. If you leave them the push-up effect is really something else, enough to cause a traffic accident.
As far as shaping goes, I have nothing to complain about, really. Slight pointiness is something I just have to accept and live with, since every damn Polish bra with a vertical seam does this to me, no matter, how well-made 🙂 The push-up effect was appreciated best by my boyfriend, who was very susupicious of my sudden breast growth spurt.
Cups are covered with a rose-themed lace that sticks out slightly on the bottom of the band – I really like that effect, and I deem it a good decision on behalf of the designer. The lace does not roll in or scratch. The straps are made of thick, round-ish elastic; it’s a progress from the scratchy straps of Camille.
The pattern of the lace is echoed by the print on the fabric of the band – yes, this is a print, not a layer of lace on a baby blue underlayer 😉 I really like the effect. The fabric works well, the band is rather stable with a side of tightness. I would say the band is a little bit less true to size than usual, so if you are under 70 cms underbust grab your wallet, you will fit in 65 band no problem.
There is a little pearl on the gore (that is where my associtation with Amphitrite comes from – she was a nereid, sea deity from Greek mythology), hung on a stripe of rhinestones which in turn dangles from a quite a big bow. I am happy that the designer achieed a balance between the robust decorativeness and tasteful functionality.
Straps are detachable both on the sides of the cups and on the gore – you get a free set of harness-free straps with the bra, thanks to which Oceane is a very universal and functional piece. There were some questions from you regarding the comfort of the gore contraption; it is absolutely stab-free and I am a really touchy-feely when it comes to my gore (to the point where I can have trouble breathing when the wires stab me) so I can wear Oceana all day long. I don’t know, how they achieved it, but it works! Oceane might be worn as a strapless bra, but I would recommend to wear it under tight clothing and if you are a smaller cup size; I wouldn’t risk wearing the bra all day long without straps, but smaller boobs can have a chance at wearing Oceane like that.
Edges of both thong and briefs has been finished using lettuce edge effect – which makes them look like roma lettuce and not lay flat completely. I don’t know, if ot was something the seamstress did on purpose or if it was an accident, since lettucce edge is either a product of wrong sewing machine setup or a decorative technique used with fine knits. It is worth mentioning that it may stand out a little undet tight or thing clothing.
