I do not think I will surprise anyone when I say that all the holographic, brocaded, and metallic elements in the bra are appealing to my inner Cleopatra; you know from our Instagram that we like to flash and flaunt. This season will see a lot of these cuties … meanwhile, let’s take a look at the first representative of the trend – a gel push-up from Lupoline! Bra, like the majority of Lupoline models, has no name, therefore for the purposes of this review, it will be called Esmeralda(an emerald in Spanish).

1932 is a model with a gel type push up – in my favourite form of ‘additive’ to the volume of the bust. I already have one bra of this type and it is absolutely the best push-up I’ve ever had, so Esmeralda was a great hope for me. The cups are covered with a delicate microfiber that is very pleasant to the touch and smooth, it does not stand out under the clothes. The band is also microfiber, and rather stretchy than rigid, similar to the bands of, e.g. Deco from Freya.
On the cleavage, there is a strappy harness with a lace element. In the middle, you can see a delicate embellishment of emerald, metallic thread that catches the eye and shimmers in the light. I associate with the royal scarabs and their beautiful shells. I am very happy that this metallic does not wash off because I was afraid of it quite strongly. The decoration is detachable and adjustable on the back, so you do not have to be afraid that it will cut in or not hang unappetizingly. Great! The bra can, therefore, be used as a simple black basic.
Decorative bling can also be found where strap and cup meet.
We also have some glowing green on the briefs. Esmeralda is a set that is a natural nod to the mermaid and unicorn trend, which was born on Tumblr and has conquered all the spheres of fashion, from footwear to underwear. As my friend said, it looks like an emo bra from the first half of 2000 … and that is very, very good! Salutations, all former emo babies 😉
Esmeralda is a very comfortable model, I would almost call it a lounge bra. Bust almost doesn’t bounce, instead, it stays put, cupped in gel and microfiber. I cannt get cold in that brassiere!
The gore is rather low, thanks to which the neckline in Esmeralda looks tempting and sumptuous.
The only thing that I do not understand and do not welcome in this project is the orange flecktarn belt-thing on the front on the panties. I had to check on the stock images, whether it was actually there because it seemed so bizarre to me that it simply had to be a seamstress mistake, maybe something fell into the sewing machine – and yet it was not a mistake or an accident. Oh well, I did not understand what the designer meant to convey, I would prefer to have a metallic strip here.
This was my first year of adventure with Lupoline, and if I had something to wish for, it was more boldness in projects. The last catalogue was very conservative, rather subdued, with just a few interesting models, and yet – as you can see from Esmeralda – the company has the potential and sense of the trends! I am very curious to see what I will see in the spring designs, and I keep my fingers crossed for the design and size development of the brand.
