Not all twins are identical – most differ in even one small detail. Such are the two Michelles, balcony bras from Room669. Although they carry the same name and at first glance, they look as if they were only different in colour, in fact, they give a slightly different effect both in the front and the back. Welcome, Michelle Red and Michelle Black!

Michelle is a beloved child of the brand and one of the most recognizable products, so we could not overlook it. The design is based on a shallow balcony cut with an elliptic edge of the cup, which is decorated with a relatively wide harness strip in the colour of the bra with an additional frill of lace. Strips are adjustable along bras strap, which initially confused me – are they sewn crookedly? No, it just took me a while to discover that I can adjust their height. Maybe it would be useful to use a cardboard tag with the information that it is a feature, not a bug;)
Boobs sit in Michelle like in the majority British balconies: the slopey effect is slightly less pronounced, but it is still very appetizing. I like the fact that thanks to the regulation of the harness part, I miss the problem of strands of lace hanging loose, and once set the straps do not move and one does not need to adjust them during the day despite the lack of sliders.
The back reveals the main difference between the colour versions – red Michelle has some elastic ribbons there, open as in projects from Dita von Teese (eg. in Starlift), and black Michelle has a meshy, covered back. The effect is completely different, although the size remains the same. I must admit that I like the red version very much (Agu did not choose black?! What on earth is going on?), but I would love the back to be less revealing. This is a personal preference, I feel better supported despite the lack of very clear differences in fit. The red version is slightly looser and I think I could choose a band one size down, but I do not want to squeeze myself, because with my percentage of fat in the body it would not look good. The black version is fastened on the first set of hooks, the red one – on the second.
Matching briefs come in two versions – strappy and classic. In this showdown, the black version wins! I really like the fact that the straps rest on my hip bones and do not cause unwanted cutting-in effect. With the red thong I missed a golden element in the front – the slider would be unnecessary, but maybe an ordinary golden circle would touch up the project.
Additionaly I also got a garter belt that matches the black set, but me being me, I also wear it with the red version, with which it looks just as great. It is not a six-strap girdle that you can wear every day for 3 years, but as a complement to the set and the supplement works great … but again I would like something like gold on those laces!
Room669 is a premium brand, so prices are slightly higher than in the case of the average Polish set. Michelle costs PLN 220, which is not a dam amount, especially when we consider the quality of fabrics and the fact that metal accessories are covered with real gold (an invaluable fact in the case of allergy sufferers). In my opinion, Michelle has a chance to become a base for the brand to produce limited seasonal series (I am asking for a green version, yes? Thank you).
A lot of people think that Room669 is too expensive – and I agree with the fact that for many people whim to wear a bra from Wroclaw, where Room669 is manufactured, is a substantial expense. I am a big fan of the Room669 aesthetics and I hope that the brand will become somewhat (but I emphasize – just a bit because for its quality it is already very cheap) more egalitarian in price and available more widely, because of course there are already several copycats (dear fakers – we know that you know that we know). I think it is good when the brand retains its identity and does not go into a cheap wholsesale feel if it did not start from it, without alienating the clientele at the same time. Would I want to pay Room669 from my own pocket if they would suddenly start selling bras for PLN 65, while simultaneously selling Leia and Michelle for the same price? No, just as I stopped wanting Agent Provocateur since they introduced the L’Agent line; the products ceased to have a justification for luxury, since next to those I see very similar products for 1/3 of the price. I have never been and I will not be a consumer who thinks she ‚deserves’ silk satin and gold for the price of cotton and nickel. I do not want to suggest here that such complicated designs made of very good quality fabrics and hardware should be getting cheaper and cheaper as long as someone from potential buyers badmouths the brand. It is clear to me why a given project has to cost so much, if I clearly see its composition, the degree of complexity, and I am able to verify who made it. In the case of Michelle bra, I have no doubt that the price is adequate for the final product; all the people through whom the hands passed this product were rightly rewarded, from the designer to the seamstress.
